This year, for the first time, the conference is supplemented by a great offer of pre-conference workshops on key topics of the circular economy. The workshops are organized by the KREIS competence center. The workshops are free of charge for visitors of the Circularity Days and take place a day before in the afternoon.

Date and Time: 19.05.2026, 14:30-17:30 h

Overview of the Workshops

Due to the organization of the workshops by the KREIS competence center, the workshops will be held in German. A more detailed description of the workshops is given below the table.

Rundgang OHLF Technikum

Workshop Guide: Dr. Stefan Schmitt (80 min)

An insight into cutting-edge research on the circular economy right on site. Together, we explore technologies, processes, and challenges that enable future innovations.

Demonstration Meetinglabor

Workshop Guide: Dr. Marie Ritter, workKREIS (80 min)

How do spaces influence collaboration? We demonstrate how the Meeting Lab makes work and communication processes visible and opens up new forms of effective cooperation.

LoopingBricks – Understanding (Circular Value Creation Architecture)

Zahra Ghazanfarpour & Christopher Dormeier, PVKREIS (180 min)

We explore how value creation architectures and business models shape circular implementation in the PV sector. Using the LEGO® Serious Play® format, we model material flows, system loops, and coordination mechanisms of circular PV value creation.

Das WEEE von morgen

Workshop Guide: Kai Rasenack (180 min)

We identify key influencing factors and develop future scenarios for electrical and electronic waste. We then develop scenarios showing how different transformation paths and framework conditions could shape the treatment of waste equipment in 2040.

Metrologie für die Kreislaufwirtschaft

Workshop Guide: Judy Pauling, wendeKREIS (80 min)

The recycling of modern products requires measuring their performance for second use. Together, we want to identify metrological challenges that stand in the way of new business models and innovations, but can be solved with metrological expertise.

Arbeit in der Kreislaufwirtschaft: Landkarte der Herausforderung und arbeitspolitischen Perspektiven der Kreislaufwirtschaft

Workshop Guide: Dr. Martin Kuhlmann, workKREIS (80 min)

Together, we map out work-related challenges and prospects. On this basis, we develop concrete, tried-and-tested, and future options for creating good work in the circular economy.
